well i noticed today that at the volume bit it had a cross i thought it was just on mute but then when i put my mouse over it said ''No audio output device installed'' and this is on my laptop and the speakers are like built in i want to listen to music and stuff but i cant any help ?

I'm on vista, & i had exactly the same problem, have you been un-installing files? because maybe youve wiped the sounds graphics card.

Right either options to do:

1.Check the cable aint detached from the laptoop(probably unlikely)

2.Restart your laptop to see if teh same error occurs

3. Download newer realtek audio drivers: ftp://152.104.238.19/pc/audio/Vista_R207.zip

Number 3 is the best option tbh.
